Fiction writer based on the Coal Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
Rayner Blake is a writer based on the Coal Coast of New South Wales. Grounded in a career spanning the entertainment industry, graphic design, and sound engineering, he has spent the past four years quietly honing his literary craft in private.
His work is heavily informed by Australian identity and a life lived across Darwin, Cairns, Sydney, and the Illawarra, alongside travels through Italy, Portugal, and Spain that reflect a sustained interest in ethnographic history and archaic regional folklore.
His debut novel, The Second Son, set across Sydney and Sardinia, is currently on submission. His short story ‘The First Son’ is a companion piece, available free below.
Eleonora carries a song she cannot recover and secrets she will never share. This is the story of what she brought out of Sardinia, and what she left behind.
